Moriarty Leads Saints to Sweep!

The Saint Scholastica Saints baseball team completed a season opening sweep of third ranked Wartburg College behind the arm of Junior Mark Moriarty (1-0). Moriarty threw a complete game, one-hit shut-out, while striking out 11 and walking only one.

Offensively, the Saints were led by Senior Luke Olin who hit a two-run triple in the first inning and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Sophomore Steve Kraushaar.

With the win the Saints moved to 2-0 on the season and will next take the field on Tuesday, March 7th against 20th ranked St. Thomas University at 5:00 PM at the Metrodome.
