Saints Picked to Win UMAC

The Saint Scholastica Saints baseball team was once again picked by the coaches of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference to claim the 2006 Championship. The Saints have won the last nine consecutive UMAC titles.

The Saints earned 49 points and seven first place votes. Northland College was picked to finish second with 40 points, while Martin Luther College and Bethany Lutheran College tied for third, with Martin Luther College receiving the other first place vote.

The Saints will be returning five position players and four starting pitchers from a team that was 36-7-1 overall and 19-1-1 in the UMAC last season.

Northwestern is picked fifth, followed by the University of Minnesota-Morris, Crown College, and Presentation College.
